Change Local Account Password

To ensure the security of your FydeOS device, it’s important to know how to change the local account password. Follow the steps below to modify your local account password:

Steps to Change the Local Account Password

  1. Open Settings: On your FydeOS device, click on the system tray in the lower right-hand corner to bring up the quick settings menu. From there, click on the gear icon to access the full settings menu.

  2. Navigate to Privacy and Security: In the settings menu, scroll down and find the section labelled Privacy and Security. Click on it to open further options.

  3. Go to Lock Screen and Sign-In: Under the Privacy and Security section, locate and select Lock Screen and Sign-In. This section manages both the lock screen settings and sign-in options for your local account.

  4. Set a PIN or Change Your Password:

    • If you wish to set a new PIN for quicker access, you can configure it in this section by selecting Set PIN.
    • To change your local account password, click on Change Password and follow the on-screen instructions to enter your current password and set a new one.

By following these steps, you can easily update your local account password or set up a PIN for quicker access.
