This guide provides instructions on how to restore your FydeOS device to its factory settings. Please note that this operation will erase all user data. This includes, but is not limited to, installed browser extensions, Android apps, data in the download folder, browser cache files, and browsing history. Once completed, this operation cannot be undone. Therefore, proceed with caution.

The command line operation detailed below achieves the same result as the 'Powerwash' function found within the 'Settings' menu. This method is particularly useful in situations where serious system issues prevent user login or access to the desktop environment.

#Step 1: Access the Bash Shell

To begin, you'll need to enter the Bash Shell environment. Follow the instructions provided in to do so.

#Step 2: Execute the Reset Command

Once you're in the Bash Shell, run the following commands:

sudo clobber
sudo reboot

Upon system restart, the data clearance process will be completed automatically. The device will then launch the OOBE (Out-of-Box Experience), also known as the first boot wizard.
