Battery Saver for FydeOS devices
Battery Saver helps you get more usage time out of your FydeOS device by adjusting certain settings to conserve power. When enabled, it can:
- Lower the brightness of your display.
- Turn off the keyboard backlight (if applicable).
- Activate the Browser’s built-in Energy Saver mode.
- Turn on Android Battery Saver when you’re using Android applications. (Learn more about managing Android battery settings).
- Reduce CPU performance to lower power consumption.
Turning Battery Saver On or Off
- On your FydeOS device, click the battery icon located in the bottom-right corner of the screen (the status area).
- Navigate to Settings > System Preferences > Power.
- Under the “Power” section, find the Battery Saver option and toggle it on or off.
Important Notes:
- Battery Saver cannot be active while your FydeOS device is plugged in and charging.
- If you haven’t manually turned Battery Saver on, it will automatically enable itself when the battery level on your FydeOS device becomes low. A notification will appear to inform you.
- You can disable the automatically activated Battery Saver directly from the notification by clicking Turn off.
- Alternatively, you can go back to the Power page within Settings and toggle Battery Saver off there.
- Connecting your FydeOS device to a charger will automatically deactivate Battery Saver.
- You can easily tell if Battery Saver is active by looking for these indicators:
- The battery icon in the status area will display a yellow ”+” symbol.
- When you open the Quick Settings panel, the battery icon will be highlighted with a yellow circle containing a ”+” symbol.
