FydeOS v23.1 is a maintenance update for FydeOS for PC. It focuses on how Android apps work with the rest of the system, resolving issues with Google Play, copying and pasting, opening links and Bluetooth. It also brings improvements to system integration and enterprise management.
Android app experience
From installing apps to copying content and opening links, v23.1 addresses several issues affecting everyday use of Android apps.
- Fixed an issue with Google Play services that prevented the Google Play Store from working correctly on some devices.
- Improved the display of Android apps when resizing windows and fixed incorrect backgrounds behind some app dialogue boxes.
- Fixed an issue that prevented content copied from Android apps from being pasted into the system browser.
- Fixed an issue that prevented links in Android apps from opening in the system browser.
- Fixed an issue that prevented WhatsApp from being installed through the Google Play Store on some devices.
- Fixed incorrect Bluetooth state synchronisation and repeated Bluetooth service crashes in Android.
- Fixed an issue where the permissions option in App info did not open the correct Android app permissions page.
System experience
- Fixed an issue that prevented users signed in with a Google account from accessing Google Drive in the Files app.
- Fixed an issue where the on-screen keyboard did not appear on the sign-in screen after manually switching to tablet mode.
- Fixed an issue that made DisplayLink unavailable.
Enterprise management
For managed devices, v23.1 adds control over selected pre-installed system apps and fixes issues with Android subsystem policies and managed guest sessions.
- Administrators can disable selected pre-installed system apps for managed accounts, including FydeOS AI, Remote Desktop and Notes.
- Fixed an issue where the user policy for disabling the Android subsystem did not take effect, and improved the message shown when attempting to install an Android app while the subsystem is disabled.
- Fixed an issue that prevented managed guest sessions from starting manually or automatically.
