FydeOS v23.0-SP1 is a maintenance update for FydeOS v23. It focuses on improving fyDroid, Linux app management, display and touch behaviour, while resolving a number of issues identified after the initial release.
fyDroid improvements
- Restored Android VPN support and fixed an issue that prevented FydeOS from sharing an Android VPN connection.
- Fixed an issue where Android app folders and Android apps pinned to the shelf could disappear after a restart.
- Improved language synchronisation and system interface localisation in fyDroid, including better support for Russian and Persian.
- Fixed an issue that prevented ChromeVox from reading content in Android apps.
- Fixed an issue where Bluetooth game controllers did not respond in Android.
- Fixed an issue that prevented some Android apps from running in VMware environments on AMD processors.
- Fixed inconsistent volume levels between fyDroid and FydeOS when both were set to the same value.
- Fixed an issue where Backspace did not work correctly in Android apps when using an input method with a candidate window.
Linux app experience
- Restored the ability to install
.debpackages by double-clicking them in the Files app. - Added the option to uninstall Linux apps from the Launcher using the right-click menu.
Display, touch and device modes
- Added touch-to-display mapping in Display settings, improving touch input alignment when multiple identical touch devices are connected.
- Tablet and desktop mode preferences now persist after a restart.
VMware improvements
- Fixed video playback errors in VMware virtual machines.
