At FydeOS, we believe that the operating system should adapt to the hardware, not the other way around. Over the past few months, through a succession of steady updates, we have remained committed to this vision, working to bring the fluid FydeOS experience to a wider array of platforms. Today, we want to highlight the cumulative progress we have made in extending our support roster.

Deepening Ties with the Maker Community

Our journey has always been closely linked with the ingenuity of the Single Board Computer (SBC) community. Continuing our long-standing dedication to ARM-based innovation, we have progressively expanded FydeOS for SBC to support the latest heavy hitters from our hardware partners.

We are pleased to announce that official support has now landed for:

  • Orange Pi 5 Pro and Orange Pi 5 Max
  • Radxa ROCK 5B+ and Radxa ROCK 5T

These additions ensure that makers and developers can continue to push the boundaries of what's possible on compact hardware, with an OS that is optimised to keep up with them.

FydeOS for You: Embracing the Surface Go 4

In parallel with our work on development boards, we have also been refining the experience for portable productivity. The FydeOS for You line-up has grown to include the Microsoft Surface Go 4.

This integration brings a bespoke, out-of-the-box cloud computing experience to Microsoft's latest compact 2-in-1, offering users a lightweight yet powerful alternative for work and creativity on the go.

A Continuous Journey

These adaptations were not flipped on with a single switch; they are the result of continuous engineering efforts over recent weeks to ensure stability and performance across diverse architectures.

Whether you are tinkering with the latest SBC or working from a café on a tablet, we are constantly working to ensure that FydeOS is ready—for your device.
